V5/6 fuel consumption

Hello mk4 section  . Was just wondering what the v5/6 boras are like on fuel, as it would seem there going for the same sorta money/a little bit more then mk3s!

What would it be like compared to a mk3 16v?

Not much difference between the two.. I got v6 and have to say im impresed considering all storys you hear that they slurp up fuel.. Around town i get low 20's and motorway dual carriageways low 30's.. The 6gears help.. When you Boot it get nice reading of 15-20 mpg  well worth it tho.. And noise of the v6 is

Good to hear. I do mostly a/b roads and motorway driving so that's good. And can easily get the 16v to drop to sup 20 when giving it some. Anything to look out for with these engines? As I know nothing about them, any chains to worry about like the vr6?

Just general stuff mate.. Check gears all go in ok and when you give it the beans check out for wheel spin that can indicate if the haldex system is up to scractch or knakered.. It should just launch off 

And what i was told before getting mine if its noisy engine, usualy due to Cam chain not serviced proply, then walk away.. also check you can hear the fans kick in after you given it some.. These tend to be the no1 thing to go on them afta a little forum Research i did
