Mk3 ABF Vac line replacement

Morning all!

Just scanned my car, and comes up with Inlet pressure sensor fault.

Would this be the right stuff to replace the line with?

Also, i've seen it replaced on others engines, but where does it need routing? Or is it a case of anywhere as long as it's connected both sides?

I have used the Search function, but can't see where people have put it, also some people say use the same length, some say length is unimportant?

And, another stupid question, is the ECU under the scuttle? Not had it apart yet (cold and theres no point as i cant fix it today!)

yes the ECU is under the scuttle on the passangers side.

If I were you I would replace all the vaccuum hoses.
The blue silicon stuff from Halfords is good.

Theres a couple of weak sports, aswell as a repair and frayed bits. I've cut the repaired bit out and re-attached and it's started a lot better in the cold, but is now jumping about when hot?

Found the ECU, just gotta try and disconnect it! (Aswell as the battery!)

What other vac lines are there? I belive theres 3, but no idea where they are?...

Also, do Halfords sell the right stuff? Can only see 5+8mm, is it 3mm ID that i'd need?

Well Halfords did do the correct stuff when I bought some about 18 months ago!
But then I went instore, wasnt looking online.

Why do you need to even move the ECU? The vac hose just pulls off/ back on.
And Battery? Why?

Is the vac hose connection not inside the ECU? And thought the battery had to be disconnected to remove ECU, but if i dont need to do it then obviously forget that!

There is a length of vac hose inside the ECU, but it is separate to the long vac hose going from intake manifold to ECU casing.

On later ABF there is a short length of vac hose that goes from the front of the intake manifold to the underneath of the PCV breather unit.

& the vac hose from the side of the intake manifold to the fuel pressure regulator

Ah, not much then Happy days! Is the stuff i linked the stuff to go for?

So the ECU will have a 'nipple' on it to attach the longer length then?

How long will the new lines need to be? Can't see it being more than a couple of meters?

Yes there is a nipple connection on the ECU casing.

Buy 3 metres as the 3mm silicon vac hose is cheap.

I changed all the 3mm lines on mine as it was having cold start issues, I also did the small length inside the ECU, sorted my problem out straight away..
