I personaly like them on the right car or van, they are also usefull as a cheap way of covering up a badly scrtached bonnet.

but imho its your car and your view that counts you should never mod your car for other peoples opinions, you wouldnt come on here and ask for advice on what clothes to put on or how to decorate your house, and a car should be no different.

Yep, moisture is trapped beneath them and does the paintwork absolutely no favours plus if they're left on long enough you get uneven sunfading to the colour. Dog sh!t.
