Lowering Problems.
« on: 01 December 2012, 07:17 »
Hey guys, I've currently just bought a red mk4 gt tdi 130 52 plate. It’s completely standard at the moment but i intend to collect some bits over the winter to fit in the spring. I’m looking to lower it 60mm all round but i’ve read online that doing this with a standard anti roll bar could cause it to rub. It currently sits on standard 15s but i’m going to be upgrading them to 18" 3SDM alloy wheels. Have any of you guys had this problem before? And if so, what way could i go about avoiding this.. As said i have almost 3 months until i will be fitting the bits so i’d rather get the correct bits and do it right so I have no problems.

Cheers, Look forward to hearing from you’s!

Kyle.

You can get ARB's that go under the shaft and ones that have a bigger loop to go over the shaft. Do a search on here there's millions of threads about this.

You will almost defo encounter rubbing if you lower 60mm all round. Will need a different front arb. Have a search there is a good guide in the maintenance section I think which tells you all the ones that go under the drive shafts.
