I wish mine was 1120kg these days :(

used to be sub 1100 before the cage, now with the cage, and full WMI tank, and a 5kg fire ext on board it's 1145

Do it properly and get rid of everything belt driven then.

Swap to electrical pumps etc.

Parasitic losses then drop way down.

I don't have power steering, I have no intention on fitting an electric pump, just more parasitic drag through the alternator and I imagine it would make the steering that much more 'numb'.
I removed the power steering to improve feedback from the car and it has worked to no end, can definitely feel changes in road surface and the limit of traction.

I am inclined to agree with agreeable slick, if you can live without power steering, remove the power steering.

I have just over 3% body fat, hardly carrying excess weight  :shocked:

This sounds like fun! haha, I'm sure the girlfriend would love it  :laugh:

You seem to have gone pretty extreme on the weight saving, I like this, considering the golf shell is heavier than the A3 to start with 1120kg is very impressive.

Are you still on the standard steering rack but without PAS? I think on my LCR rack it'd just be too heavy to even consider parking the car!

Wait until I've got this VWMS shifter finished, then it'll be a really ann summers affair! Billet knobs? yes please  :whistle:
