last nights work, 76mm hole saw and pipe.  Still to be welded in but leaving that till after xmass because I'm hoping the wife might get me one.

very good. seems pretty simple adding a chassis notch lol. i take it you wont be using the car in the mean time?

It's clearance for the arb on the chassis so when he dumps all the air out the bags it will sit on the sills and not the arb

Almost Steve. It to stop the drivers drive shaft hitting the rail.  No way should you drive the car like that. The plate need welded in and painted.

Surely if you have a front end crash thats just going to fold.. even with the pipe in place.

All the boys on air do this.
Plush done a mates brand new scirocco whilst installing air, They did warn him that insurance may class it as a write off to cover their own back's  :lipsrsealed:

I wouldnt personally do it, but if it's a show car not running silly power used on the road daily then each to their own, Plenty of boys running the mk4 platform do this but iv yet come across a smashed up one after a notch so unable to comment on the weakening of the chassis.

Looks good though mate, once welded and undersealed its unlikely anyone will know it was done.
1.6-1.8t AGU K03s, Forge actuator, Forge 007p, turbo back exhuast, Ths front mount, Catch can, 5 piece silicone boost pipes and creation sports tip. Stage 2 atm 232bhp 270lbs. Waiting for custom mapping :-)
