12v portable battery booster recommendations? £100 budget.

Hi guys

Winter is here and I always have problems with a flat battery. My old cheap booster lasted a few months and the new budget is £100.
I need the highest crank amps within that budget and will be using it for the odd diesel engine.

A built in light, 12v socket or a tyre inflator would be a bonus.

Can anyone recommend one?

Spend the money on a decent Bosch silver battery.


Disconnect all the extra switches you don't need..

there all crap at the end of the day.

crack the one you have open and fit a decent SLA battery   ignore the CCA they offer its all bollocks   mine clamed 900A
put the fluke meter clamp over the cabels and dead shoreted it with peack hold on the meter it did about 500 amps into a dead short    funny 900 A that. only did it as it really seemed lame compared to what it clamed  replacement was the same. 

for work i now have an optima battery in a box  thats plugs into car/truck ( with chunky cabels for fast recharge )  and some 50mm leads pokeing out of said box with big crock clips on the ends

switches and looms ripped out Ken. Only seat elements and motors kept. Got a few month old bosch silver and its worse than my old halfords one.

Still need a booster for the other diesel motors.

Can't test the old one Danny as it doesnt hold charge but ill try that when i get one. Good tip!

Get a GOOD vehicle electrician on your car then!

If the battery's dying there's a problem with your electric which needs to be sorted.

Address the problem not the symptoms.

Car's are perfect! We have cars that are left parked up for a long time away from a power source. Jump starting them from another car is a pain.

30 seconds with a socket set or spanner and your negative battery terminal is removed.  That's what I do.

Although I'd still contend you have an electrical issue with your car if you need a battery charger on it in a few months of putting a new battery into it.

I have the solar trickle charger and it seems good enough.
