Whistling noise from offside engine bay??
« on: 24 November 2012, 16:36 »
Got this whistling coming from the cambelt side of the engine bay, up by all the pulleys etc. Not sure as to what it could be, any known problems or common faults?

Cheers :)

Now don't quote me on this, but.... My first thought suggests that it could be one of the pulley cogs?

Do you get 1.8 NA GTIs? Thought they were 2L?

You got both

I think VW over ordered GTI badges so slapped them on nearly every MK4

Haha sounds about right to me lol!
Found out it was the cam timing cover rubbing on the cam belt!
All sorted :)
