Dashboard Problem
« on: 23 November 2012, 12:56 »

i've got a problem with my dash.....
when i start the car everything is fine, after a couple of seconds all the gauges drop, rev counter, fuel,temp....
and now the dash backlights are inop

also the battery is draining so something is happening that shouldn't be

sometimes they come back on when cruising to a stop and the guages lights etc make it out as if the car is just starting!!

just took another look and when the car starts the guages are fine....once the led sets the mileage on the guages drop?

any ideas....
cheers
Ady

Yes as above check the 28 pin plug on the back first, it may have come adrift.

If you mean the plug on the back of the panel i have had this out today and it seems ok, is there anything specific in the engine compartment that may have come loose?

thanks for the suggestions so far its appreciated

You could drop your fuse box and give the wires a wiggle to see if they come on or drop out again, also pull off a battery teminal and put a meter across to see how much power is being drained, get someone to pull each fuse 1 at a time whilst watching the meter,it may pin point a prob.
