advice needed had a bump

i need advice from you guys.
i was reverse parking (checked all my mirrors) parking on the left hand side
anyway checked all my mirrors and checking the left hand side.
next second i felt a bump thinking wth have i hit,
anyway check my mirrors & theres a red bm parked there trying to do a 3.turn. (hit his driver side wheel)
as i got out my car, a walker by calls the guys name & asks are you ok
checked the damaged & i hit his wheel & my bumper has a tiny scratch
now this guy says i hit his wing but there aint no paint transfer but paint is missing from my bumper. (his wheels where kurbed bad & the scratch is rough not smooth)
he tried to get me to admit fault which i refused saying both of my reverse lights are working & you shouldav seen me.
now where do i stand people?

So, 6 of 1, and half a dozen of the other! was it on private property? admit nothing, and ask him how he's going to pay for damage to your car, leave the ball in his court

i have edited the original post (much more clear)
it was on the main road.
he said that i got to pay him (1st time this has happened to me in 7 years lol)
spoke to my mate & he says to ring the insurance & tell them what happened & also say that his witness knew his name before hand
p.s his car looks nice from far but close up its a different story (thats what my mate said to me)

If you were doing your maneuver first you could argue that he drove into you. Insurance will probably go 50/50. Tell the guy to go through his insurance and pay excesses or try to come to some sort of agreement.

yeah, i was doing my manouver 1st as when i checked my drivers mirror nothing was there all clear, then checked my rear view mirror & then pas mirror (was parking on left side)

Im saying its his fault & he should be paying. As when i checked my mirror it was all clear & good. Then a bump. He shouldav seen me reversing as both of my reverse lights work. So he owes me monies
