Just be wary of the prices of Costco Michellins. I got my daughter 3 tyres from there a few months back and found I could have got them much cheaper from one of the online suppliers even throwing in fitting.

I usually look around at prices first but had always got my tyres from there in the past and nowhere could touch the prices so never bothered to shop around first!! DOH. With 20% off though you should be fine.

Aye, without the 20% discount I would probably go elsewhere, however the caveat is that you have to buy 4 otherwise the deal won't be accepted.

You can however only get two fitted let's say and go back another time to get the others done.

Remember new ones go on the front first not the back understeer is better than oversteer.

My Costco won't put new tyres on the front. They have signs all over the place that the new tyre will be placed on the rear and the rear will go on the front.

The first time they told me this I had an argument about it with them but they wouldn't budge.

I've been offered Monza shadows with good tyres. My only issue is how do you tell that the monzas are genuine from a pictures ?

Ask the seller who there made by? MK5 = BBS and MK6 = Ronal, also ask for a pic of the inner wheel that clearly displays the VW badge and Part Number...the MK6 Shadow part number is 1K0 601 025 BA FZZ, don't know the MK5 part number but I'm sure someone will come along with that info...

I can't afford 2 sets of tyres. I am looking for a set of all year tyres

If you buy winters now, then a set of all season in the spring, although you will have bought 2 sets in 6 months, you will still have the winter tyres for next year. You can only wear one set of tyres out at a time, so in the long run, it doesn't cost any more money to have winter tyres.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.
