Hi, apologies, i know this isn't in the correct place but i wasn't sure where to post it and this is the only board i know.
My girlfriend has bought a 97 polo cl (6n?) and we left it for about 2 weeks just sitting there and the battery went flat. No worries there, we went to jumpstart it, but as soon as there was power the alarm went off. I pressed the button on the keyfob to turn it off and it does nothing. It doesn't work the remote central locking or turn off the alarm. The little red light flashes but nothing happens.
Obviously, while the alarm is on the immobiliser kicks in, i noticed after 20 seconds it will cut out for a second giving me a chance to start it. The alarm stays on and shortly the car cut out. I have the same keyfob system on my mk3 so i thought maybe someone here could help? Its driving me mad!
