Guess you better think about bending over and getting a crown if its the front, around £500 each these day gold or paladium sir?  :lipsrsealed:

Would be interesting to hear how the original chap got on with his abscess.  He may or may not need a crown; if so an NHS one is around £100, private prices vary massively but you should be able to get a high quality all ceramic crown for around £350.

Scotland is much cheaper isnt it? Here my dentist charge £400 plus root canal or extracting, x-rays blah blah
My crown fell out last week £100 just to refit and a quick sonic clean £60  :lipsrsealed:

Our NHS system generally works well however the government changed the English contract a few years back and it's now a shambles, many practices have had to become private and others have closed.  Having said that £100 to refit a crown is a shocker.  That and your scale and polish would have set you back £18 up here!

My wife had ths a few years ago, made her face swell up so much she was hardly recognisable, horrific pain too.

Strongest pain killers you can lay your hands on gat yourself to the emergency dentist ASAP.

Good luck.

Word of warning..........I had a tooth abscess once and 2 courses of antibiotics failed to clear it.  In end, had to have tooth out WITHOUT anaesthetic as it wasn't taking effect...........THE MOST PAINFUL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!  and that includes giving birth (oh alright, I had a cesarean and didn't feel a thing)

Hope the pills do the trick.

Just had an abcess but didnt know I have one until the tooth broke off! Still no pain. Dentist gave me antibiotics and all fine for now. Back after Xmas for root canal work.

My second front tooth crown cost me £220 last year. (NHS Dentist)
