I'm thinking the same tbh. I wanna go with coilovers as I've heard they actually improve the ride. Also I don't want to drop the rear as much as the front, 15mm on the rear 25mm on the front, would give I the perfect stance.

That's probably the case with the more expensive ones but not the cheap ones. They make the ride worse!

But yes you need coilovers if you want to have different adjustable heights.

What would be a decent pair of Jamex be any good?

Not based on what I have read about them. Check out AP coilovers as I have read they are decent. Although I have never had coilovers so maybe wait for some advise from guys that have :afro:

Cheers brother will do. To be honest, I may just not bother. The car handles fine as it is, with the power I'm running. I think if I used more for track days, then it may be worth the investment. But from the viewpoint of a slightly improved ride and better road handling, how much more do I need on the country roads? As it is I struggle to put 290-300bhp down in any kind of weather other than dry and clean, so I might just nob it off.

Of interest maybe. I've coilover on my golf. Talked to the previous owner about them and he said that every car he's had them on, they have improved handling and made the car stick to the ground like anything. Photo here but the front end is lower than the back. Could change it but actually quite like the stance - http://i1141.photobucket.com/albums/n600/jonmaw1/IMG_20592.jpg

Is that your Gti?

The only reason I ask is that the front splitter is black in your profile pic and the one in the linked picture is colour coded? Gti's look way better colour coded, I think VW short changed their customers buy leaving parts of the trim in 'black plastic'!

It's an absolute belter. Absolutely love those rims!

Also what make are the coilovers and what mods have you made so far?

Yes! Interesting, same car and photos done a few mins apart! - this is a full res photo of the profile pic: http://i1141.photobucket.com/albums/n600/jonmaw1/IMG_2050.jpg and this is the one I linked a few moments ago: http://i1141.photobucket.com/albums/n600/jonmaw1/IMG_20592.jpg   -----  I think the profle picture is soo small that tbh you make anything out properly really. Colour coding is the one, they definately shortchanged those without!!

Erm coilovers are eibach. As for mods, stage 1 map, neuspeed p-flow induction kit, forge DV, uprated brakes (gunna be honest they were fitted by the previous owner and I haven't even looked at them tbh...note to self: do this weekend). Plans for a front intercooler and exhaust very soon with few more things in the new year but I may not actually need all of them now!! There are other mods which I don't call mods like xenons, all internal/external lights are LEDs (this is actually awesome), tints, touchscreen radio, sub/amp etc.

Rims are BBS. There are spacers on the back as otherwise the wheels would touch the shocks. It is a stunner. Was gunna be originally for my girlfriend but i've decided she can now have my old golf haha!!
