« on: 08 November 2012, 10:56 »
Now that winter is coming and the fact i work on a muddy estate i am looking for some rubber mats. Not really a fan of them myself but i do need them as my carpets ones are getting completely ruined.

I have found these

Has anyone got these or could suggest any for me.

I've got genuine ones in mine. £42 for all four from TPS.

I have my rubber ones on top of the carpet mats, so the actual carpets underneath are still like brand new. This doesn't work for the drivers mat tho' as you can't clip it into place.

Also, the ones pictured in the link don't look like they cover the passenger side wheel arch lump like the genuine ones do.

Sod's law, that's where your passengers muddy boots will end up when they stretch their legs out.

My main concern is my side as i am always wearing workers boots all the time and they carry a lot of mud!

I will try and find the ones from TPS.

Will remove the drivers side matt and replace it with the rubber ones as i have nearly already worn through it. i always seem to go through mats but this is the first car that i have actually cared about so want to keep it in the best way possible.

I suppose the only real way to combat the muddiness from your workers boots is to carry a spare pair of shoes and change into them after work ect, that way the new mats will stay looking good for longer(hopefully)

in a cue

thanks for the link.

The problem with the boots is that i will need to change them in the car and they are a pain to get on and off! also the cloth mats are wearing out from my heels so i need something that wont wear out as easily. my old mk5 after three years i had worn a hole in the mat and started to wear a hole in the carpet in the foot well. lol

No offence but surely you could see the mats wearing through and you didn't think you should maybe buy some new ones before they damage the carpets underneath?

Carpet mats are a consumable to protect the actual carpet in my world
