some help needed

Hi folks new to this sits and looking for some help if poss . Recently bought a golf gti concept yellow great car totally love it the only problem I have with it is when changing gear the clutch only releases half way after gear change and I have to put my foot under it to pop it up sometimes . Can anyone tell me what this may be

Release bearing or pressure plate are possibly worn/damaged, or possibly even a bent push-rod.
Although don't take what I said as a definite, just a guess.

Perhaps other users will have more ideas about this issue.
When in neutral and you press the clutch in, does it stick then too?
And how does the clutch feel when you press the pedal? Is it smooth or rough? Does it possibly feel stiff then smooth or the other way around at all?
Just to have an idea if it's the cable or the other parts.

Try changing the clutch cable, it may be sticking if it hasn't been done for a while

When car is in neutral still sticks halfway up when I'm driving sometimes it does eventually come back up its self had a new clutch cable about a year ago according to receipts I got with car . Goes into gear with no issues

Then it seems like it's engaging the clutch correctly, yet not releasing properly.
Either it's a messed up cable or those other box related issues.

Does the clutch feel smooth when you press the pedal down?

Yeah goes down pretty normal
