Any good broadband reviews?
« on: 02 November 2012, 11:58 »
I am currently on Orange home phone & broadband but its being cut off on 15th as its in my ex's name and the contract is up so I gotta set up a new broadband. Everytime I think ive found a good deal I read hundreds of bad reviews, obviously people arnt going to bother taking the time to write a review if they are getting what they paid for, its only the hacked off people that bother to write about it in my experience but still its put doubt in my mind.
The 2 real contenders, due to the fact im skint are Tesco Broadband and Talk Talk which are both unlimited and include line rental for around £15 a month.
Anyone got anything good to say about these? Or can anyone reccomend a good alternative?
Thanks

My dad recently switched from 02 to talk talk and haven't got a good word to say about them.

Maybe it's just our one but signal drops out all the time, slow as anything.

I did tell dad not to swap but he never listens. So got him to get on the phone tomo to get rid as its ridiculous.

But like I said maybe its just us although O2 was fine was only cos he was offered good price. But prob like most things, u get what u pay for  :undecided:

I've got talktalk, been with them for about 4 years now I think. Great up until recently, internet seems to sometimes take forever to load.

Plusnet

+1!!!!

+2

UK call centre helps when you're broadband stops working and you need someone to rant at. unfortunately last time mine stopped working it took 40 mins to speak to an operator.

I don't think a semi will give the same results

Another big +1 for PlusNet, They got my mother sorted with them in no time at all including an engineer to fix her line / master socket that's 20+ years old!

thanks everyone, my friend who lives down the road says she has plusnet and its always having connection problems. wish you could test the speed before you sign up... might give talk talk a go as its cheap. ive been on Orange for a year and the speed is only around 5.5mbps and i do get the odd 'cant find server' usually when im just about the check out for a purchase or when its 5 seconds to go on an ebay item im bidding on!! it has been bearable though so hopefully i can get something cheap and cheerful and it will be ok with general day to day stuff.
