Hi from the Island !
« on: 30 October 2012, 23:12 »
Hi all, thought I'd introduce myself after finding this forum whilst looking for info on Mk4 upgrades.

I'm from the lovely Isle of Anglesey in North Wales which although is a nice place to live its basically miles away from anything !

Not new to Vw's at all, had 2 mk1 golfs of which one is my long term project nearing completion, a 20vt Passat estate and a bargain oil burner Mk3 golf estate.

My most recent purchase was made today - a lovely retirement blue mk4 golf estate but a lovely rare 1.8t Aum engined model. It's going to be my daily driver sleeper project with hopefully a KO4/KO3 Hybrid swap and aiming for about 280bhp to keep the rods safe. I've already ordered a 1.6 badge so I'll be able to go baiting scooby's and VXR's

I'll post a few pictures up of my past VW's

Hi all, Len it originally started out as a budget project from a 1.1 base and the engine came up very cheap at the time. Didn't fancy chopping the engine mount and switching racks, linkages to go big block so stuck with it. Also seen a few mk1's with AFH's in and they fly despite only being about 120bhp as they can rev to 7k+ so have a good area under the graph etc.

Cheap tax is a bonus for a car that's only going to be used about 6 months a year too
