i have taken my starter motor out and gone to put the new one back in but the holes dont line up by a little bit is there any reason or do i have to get playing around with it???

Can always make the holes bigger on the starter motor not to much tho.. Just run a drill bit through them slightly

Jack under the front of the engine to take the weight of the engine and gearbox. Should allow things to line back up again - starter is part of the front mount assembly.
