40 mm drop . 16s or 17s .what is best cheers

just dropped my golf by 40 mm and would like some new wheels . should i go for 16 or 17s cheers and any one got any . thanks . its a 51 plate convertable. 4 stud

Edit. Sorry thought it was a mk3 for some reason. What mk is it? The mk3.5?

It is a cabrio so it is based on a mk3.

Nope they never made a mk4 cabrio and whilst it looks like a mk4 it is a mk3 underneath

17"s with lowering on a mk3 is tight for clearance, stick with 16"
