Wouldn't have thought you really need to 'run in'  a head gasket as such. It wouldn't hurt to go easy for the first few hundred miles, basically until you're confident all is ok.

I'm assuming its just the head gasket you replaced or was any head work done?

running in is normally only required on bottom end work. When i worked  for mercs we didnt suggest  running  in after head rebuilds just an oil change after 1000 miles and check for noises leaks from head at the same time. If it were me id go easy for a while but if all sounds and feels ok then just drive normally.

Ive been taking it easy.. not gonna thrash it till ive done a few hundred miles and an oil change and a flush... Give her some nice new oil!...

Its not running great at the mo.. Think timing might be slight out.. its slow reving and feels sluggish..
