just as its a mk4 think i can mention it here!!

i see someone mentioned the other day about using it to see air intake temps, nock sensor?, timing, and things like that.... (dont really know what im saying  )

just want to know what blocks to log befor i fit fmic to see what true gains i get, then i can play around with unisettings to then increase performance once the mods have been done

FMIC really only affects the amount of timing you can run, cooler air = more timing

Thus to see this log block 020 to see what timing pull you have before you fit the FMIC, if it's right it should be about 3. then fit the FMIC and log again, the timing pull should be down to 0 now. Then you can add timing with unisettings to get it back to around 3. The extra timing will help with torque.

Now, instead of increasing timing you could increase boost instead. As boost increases so does temperature of the charge air and thus the potential for knock, fitting an FMIC reduces charge air so you can increase boost levels without experiencing knock. As boost can't be adjusted with unisettings you're best off just playing with the timing. Also log the MAF readings as you may find that increases due to the better flow of the FMIC over SMIC again this is a sign of improvement.
