Wow £60/£45. Wouldn't you rather just use that to fuel the car and rag it around a bit & have some fun?

The bulbs are only 55w, butaccording to the sales pitch, they produce light equivalent to 110w.

Haven't yet had the pleasure of an MOT on this car

Just an aside but white fog lights won't cut through the fog the same way yellow / off white will. They are that yellowy colour for a reason. Although if its purely for cosmetic reasons it probably doesn't matter.
I agree, I find my xenons completly  rubbish in fog  give me standard lights in fog anyday. I would much rather have yellow foglights like they use to be in the 50,60,70s than current day ones. I use my fogs to be seen by other road users who are at junctions waiting to pull out etc when foggy like this week, As they stand out more.  They also work well on really thick fog to help illuminate the white line and side of the road to help you get through the really thick fog.

i have to use my fogs all the time cos my headlights are like mini maglights ha. got some xenon bulbs in the post though..

You need an uprated loom. Your lights are crap because your probably only getting 9 volts to them. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-CORRADO-UPRATED-HEADLIGHT-WIRING-LOOM-SAFE-/140870528891?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item20cc89af7b
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.
