My clean license is about to be saddled with 3 points is it and can i expect a £60 fine?

yes, it will be an SP30 offense I think, as long as they did actually catch you.

If it was a mobile van there will have been a "manned" laser gun - he/she may have been having a tea break at the time if you are lucky

Unlucky, got the mail drop on Friday so request to send details your honour

Oh dear bad luck.

After 28 years of driving cars and bikes and having had a few speeding fines and points in the past I can honestly say each time I got done was because I was not paying enough attention to spot the speed camera or police man pointing a speed gun at me in time.

The way I see it if there is another car within sight I dont go mad coz you never know and at night too. I learnt a valuable lesson around 20 years ago when a friend of mine decided to change lane on a dual carriage way (as joke) while I was gaining fast, luckily no issues but if you cant trust a mate then you can't trust anyone. However if there is an empty peice of road and its safe then it up to my concience, luckily I have a few roads near me that are not busy

A few months ago I was near home in a 30 and doing 30 on a straight road where I know there are speed traps. I saw a police man with a speed gun and he measured my speed and put the gun down, the next second the guy following me pulled out and over took me about 100 metres from the police man, yes he was measured and pulled over I had to laugh but that would have been me 15 years ago.  :smug:

Bad luck

I can recommned the PocketGPSWorld speed camera database for your SatNAV.

It includes all known mobile sites (as well as fixed sites of course) and is kept up to date.  If you are the first to report a new camera you get free life membership too).

Although the mobile sites are unlikely to be manned, it does at least give you advance warning and alert you to keep a look out.
