abf into a 6n
« on: 22 October 2012, 18:28 »
thinking of gettin a cheap polo and a donor 16v and starting a little project come spring, just trying to find info on a list of parts needed and if the power gains is worth all the hassle and money, not in a rush to do it just something to play around with when the weather starts warming up again so if anyone knows any info on this let me know

Unless you have good fabrication/ mechanical skill it may be a bit much to take on. Needs custom mounts s driveshafts for a start.

Didn't the Ibiza gti have the abf lump? Basically a polo iirc. Should be doable.

Anything is doable if you have the skill.

i have a cousin whos very good with a welder, from what ive found it takes alot of cutting/welding to make the engine fit but apparently the wiring side is really easy, def going to go over all my options carefully and not rush into it

i was thinking about the same swap. i heard that you can fit the abf into polo using polo 1.9d engine mounts to avoid clearance issues, but dont know if its true
