Rear spacers
« on: 20 October 2012, 21:05 »
Basically I'm trying to avoid buying longer bolts and another set of locking nuts and I've been told I wouldn't need to with 5mm spacers?

All help appreciated as always.

10mm at least or get your coat

I run 10mm H&R spacers which come with longer bolts.  Got them from DPM Performance.

And if they want your wheels they will most likely take the car that comes with them  :lipsrsealed:

I ran 12mm on the A3, got a bit of rubbing but was right down on coilies. No locking wheel nuts. As mentioned, if they want your wheels, they will get them. It's hardly a difficult job to remove locking nuts. Or they'd just take your car.

5mm isn't worth it.......

Scott - fancy giving someone with a glass back a hand, perhaps do dial staging too? For some beer tokens of course? Have you got the facility to do it?

Do you wheels sit flush now with the arch or should I consider 12mm?

Just a tiny bit inside but they are much more in line with the front wheels now. I didnt go for 12's as some people reported rubbing should the car be loaded up  :undecided:

Thanks, 10mm it is then. Tbh we tend to use mine for anything bulky cos ya can get bugger all in the boot of the cab. I'll get them ordered tomorrow all being well.

You not doing the front?

I have spacers on my radar since lowering and was thinking 10mm front and back, look forward to the pics

Not yet as I think the fronts sit pretty in line. I was looking down the side of my car and the rears just look like they could do with coming out a bit. Tbh it's just a cosmetic thing to give the car a wider stance, I'm not really interested in the handling properties.
