help with the future
« on: 19 October 2012, 19:13 »
hello all,
so the situation is, i have a 16v on std alloys and suspension.  all tyres need replacing and front drivers wheel is buckled. time to upgrade!  i rather like the look of compomotive th monos so thinking of getting tyre/alloy package.
ones im looking at are 15" 8j et 25 205, 50  15', which they say will fit. once i have recovered from the pay out of the new alloys and tyres i shall be getting my self some decent coilovers. im not planning on dropping more than 60mm. am guessing i will need arches rolled with that drop, but am i guna need to get some more stretch?
a problem tho, is im not a huge fan of stretch. lol will it be required???
thanks for any help

To be honest I wouldn't choose them wheels for one reason, weight! They weight a ton.

You will need stretch with that et. You want et30 at the most. And yes you will need to roll them

195/45/15 tyre

If they are real motorsport wheels they would be magnesium and light. But this style of wheel is a gravel rally copy. It has a lot more matieral than needed.

However they do look awesome so don't let that put you off, I'm just telling you a little about them. I was going to get a set a while back.

8j Et25 with that tyre is crazy

I struggled with 195/45/16 tyre on my 8j et20. So you got 5mm to play with, but with 205/50/15 tyre it will rub even with rolled arches. (If its low!)

I had to go to 195/40/16 tyre.

sent an email to compomotive asking about the weight, of out interest, and they weight between 6.8Kg and 7.3Kg depending on fitment,   for 15" x8".
much lighter than the standard alloys i bleive lol
