well heres the story......

turns out was the ecu so we had another one unlocked..
put that in worked great, mate tested it etc started to drive it home, overheated and blew on the motorway.
so back down there, two weeks later took another agu out of an A3 and put it in.
started up wonderful etc etc, drove it fine yesterday day, then because i had a battery drain of some kind? (which i never had before the conversion was done) he said disconnect the battery when i got home..
which i did, and now well..
when i went to start it yesterday, it starts but doesnt rev past 1500rpm, i can have the foot flat on the gas and it will bounce to 1500 then back down to idle. wont pull off. fault code reader says throttle body?

This doesn't sound right! You shouldn't need to reset it if you disconnect the battery. Plus battery is draining. You sure the wiring is 100%?

have you done throttle body adaptation ? its quite simple to do, i had the same problem on a passat after disconecting the battery. you might need vagcom to do the adaptation.
