new to owning a Golf.

hello folks.

new to the site and owning a golf, ive always loved golfs special the mk2 form the 80s but i grow up with vauxhalls. no the prob is i havnt a clue about a golfs engine. ive drove car with turbo's in them and it seems to me my mk4 1.8 20v turbo dosnt pull or kick in like the others do. everything is standard and id like to no what can i do as to remapping dump valves air filter and so on.

well you want to start with a remap then get a forge 007p recirculating valve silicone boost pipes and silicone TIP oil catch can system if you want, and go down either the CAI or uprated panel filter like pipercross or KnN, thats the basics that dont really cost too much.
thats what i have done so far and i have noticed the difference since i first got it.
were abouts in belfast you from??

No effence to the above as thats good info but do it backwards starting with filters ect then the map last

Thanks for your info. What bhp is your car after the remap and the addons ? I live in the quiet part of Belfast cregagh area.

thats what i meant

and when im not busy i might pop up that way and give you a jingle, on the dyno its said 217bhp at the best run

oh and also beat it with the lowering stick lol

I would remap it first and run it on 98 ron shell petrol and get a 007 forge dv at the same time . Iv gone off induction kits . Theres to many monster puddles on the road , i did it tonight hit the biggest puddle at 40 mph, it like driving through a river.
