is it worth mod a high miliage turbs??

i have a 1998 agu standard its got 180000 ml on the clock ive got no service history but servise my self a few times myself . is it worth modding it up or is it a waste ov time and better to buy a lower mile engine and spend some money  into that  ?? or  just mod mine till it dies then just swap all parts over ??
1.8t agu,,Bora Vents,,Cai,,Vr6 clutch/G60 flywheel,,forge dump valve,,jom coilovers,,eibach front and rear arbs,, 15mm front 20mm rear spacers ,,3" downpipe & decat..sportex 4"oval exhaust

Run it till it dies and replace things you need to, look after it and hey presto you have a good car! Mine cost me £850 and i'm not gunna say how much i've put into it, but its a blinding car now, and its my car :) go at it mate!

It's always worth modding it, pretty sure there is someone on here with 260k on the clock and still going strong, so just look after it and she will do you proud, and when it dies just swap all the parts over so keep all the standard parts, I have parts on my car now that I had on my first golf 3 years ago.

Blowing up the engine may be the best thing you can do!

Replace it with another that's been built to take more boost  :evil:

The blocks are pretty good, it's all the bolt on stuff that tends to die like turbos, flywheels ect ect.

Get the mods, you realise what you have been missing out on  :wink:
ARZ K03s, Oettinger Side Skirts, R32 front, Carbon stage 2, Forge 007p (yellow spring), Forge Actuator (yellow spring), Pipercross panel filter with DSG parts, N249 and N112 deleted, SAI deleted, Carbon canister deleted, Rear wiper deleted, Long Life turbo back custom exhaust with 200 cell sports cat, VR6/G60 clutch kit, Creation Motorsport TIP, Catch can, 'Wellycooler', K04 charge pipe, S3 ported inlet manifold - looks pretty standard on the outside though :)

cheers 4 the advise just ordered my first mods a set ov groved and drilled disks all round and a vr6 clutch and g60 flywheel

Brilliant you'll deffo feel the difference! Modding is an addiction, once you start you just cant stop!

My 1999 agu is on 197k it doesn't smoke use water or oil and I'm running a stage 2 retch map on a k03s turbo and supporting mods pushing 230bhp lol if you look after it mate it will look after you... I love mine... AGU ftw!!! ;D
