1.6 estate keeps cutting out?

Hi guys looking for some idea's

My cousin has a 1.6 estate, and it cuts out sometimes. This is not when he puts the clutch in, or stalling etc.
Last time it happened was @ 70 on the motorway, the dash stay illuminated, but you have to turn the key to start the engine again, like when you stall?

Cars throwing up no codes so looking for ideas?

could be anything mate, no symptoms at all ?

ARZ K03s, Oettinger Side Skirts, R32 front, Carbon stage 2, Forge 007p (yellow spring), Forge Actuator (yellow spring), Pipercross panel filter with DSG parts, N249 and N112 deleted, SAI deleted, Carbon canister deleted, Rear wiper deleted, Long Life turbo back custom exhaust with 200 cell sports cat, VR6/G60 clutch kit, Creation Motorsport TIP, Catch can, 'Wellycooler', K04 charge pipe, S3 ported inlet manifold - looks pretty standard on the outside though :)

fuel pump, injectors, plugs, coils/leads.

Cutting out would point to spark/fuel

my thoughts exactly i'll take a look around and replace bits and bobs buddy! then atleast we can cancel things out :)
