How reliable are ...

The 1.9 turbo diesel Zaffira's? I know some of you do/have owned Vauxhaul's.

Reason I ask is I have the chance to purchase a 2007 model with 190k+ on the clock, mostly motorway mileage, for not a lot of money.

Anyone owned one? Are they good for starship mileage?

This one has only broke down once, that was an alternator about 3 years ago. I should be able to get the full service history too!

We had one from about 70000 up till 154000 and had no real problems with it apart from some silly electrical issues like one window motor packing up and the remote locking could be a bit temperamental, it was serviced once a year and generally abused as family motors usually are but i'd have another one as it was such a useful car.
I have heard that the clutch is an expensive job though.

Think they're pretty alright other than that. Usual diesel injector issues but AFAIK none worse than the rest. We had one once as a hire car. Pretty bland but pretty practical!

I bought a 206 for misses to learn and bum around in.
It took the kids prams, shopping and baby seats.

I'm going to try get as much info as possible this weekend about it from my brother inawl. The last time I asked (a while ago now!) the clutch hadn't been changed and he hasn't said anything about any other major work being carried out other than the alternator when that went pop - even the cambelt hadn't been changed in his ownership I'll ask for all the paperwork etc so I can dig through it before deciding. He said it's on a maintenance plan and gets services regularly... so he should have the paperwork to back it up!
