I'm Tim, 41, and have just bought my first VW...a 2009 GTD in Pearlescent Black. After only three days of owning it, all I can say is I wish I'd got a VW sooner!
Test drove a 105 TDi BlueMotion, a 140 GT TDi Passat, but the GTD grabbed me the moment I sat in it, so there could be no other choice.
I came across this forum when doing a search on Performance Chips. While the GTD has already surprised me with it's performance, I do feel perhaps I should act my age and own something that'll do as many MPG as possible. What limited reading I've done so far on Performance Chips or Custom Remaps is that not only is the power increased, but so's the economy. Don't know how correct that is, (more power surely leads to a heavier foot and reduced economy
), but I'm sure I'll find out in time.
