Hi, again I don't seem wants strange about asking the value, I paid £300 for the car as a non runner. Never ever owned one before
so have no idea of its true value.
Does the mk3 have an imobiliser, as I got two keys one plain and one with a push button on, but no internal guts inside. The car just will not start at all. The guy told me he had to bang the fuse box, to get it going. Got it shipped to me only two days ago and have been unable to start the engine. Done a few checks to day, and checked for spark non. Also no voltage going to distributor,
anyone have any ideas please. Turns over fine, but will not fire up.

Thx

Kevin

if it was the immobiliser it would start but cut out right away. do you have power to the coil pack? they have a habit of burning out if you leave the ignition on without the engine running for long periods of time

Will test that 2moro, but I'm assuming there will be no voltage their too!!
Any other sugestions, please.

Hi,
again I always thought that the chip in the key sends a signal to the ECU to Disarm the imobiliser, so you can start the engine.
Hence if the key has no guts in ie Chip, how can it send a signal that everythings ok  and you can start the engine. Please
correct me if I'm wrong.

Thx

Kevin
