a little bulb advice
« on: 05 October 2012, 22:27 »
Oks i recently swapped my Angle eyes and i am back with standard headlights so i am wanting to change all the bulbs next month.
but i am stick on which side light bulbs to go for and if you have some advice or recommendations on bulbs iut would be much appreciated.

Diped bulbs H7 - Osram night breaker +plus (had Philips extremes in before great bulbs but want to try something different).

Full beam bulbs H1 - Prob just some cheap ones as not going to get mush use.

Indicator bulbs PY21W - Philips Silver Vision to get rid of the egg look

Side Ligth Bulbs 501 - again don't know, want them to look good with the Osram's don't know to go led or not. would like some advice and links if pos.

Fogs bulbs H3 - as there not wired up yet (originally didn't have fogs as i have a poverty spec Mk4) just whats in the light's atm.

Thanks

Hi mate

For my sidelights I use these:
http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/110911608120?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&cbt=y

The bulbs are indeed blue, yet when they're switched on they shine white! I use them with philips extreme H7's and they're pretty much identical, both a nice white, not quite as good as real xenon's but prob as good halogens as I've seen.

Also during the day they don't make the mirrored reflector dish appear a bit bluey, unlike some I've seen.

I use standard bulbs for main beam and fogs, don't really see the need to change them, and silver's in the indicators, looks spot on altogether

Oh and if you wanna do you're number plate bulbs, I think these are a nice touch:

Hope that's some help bud

Thanks mate, helps a lot think ill go all Philips

think ill go with the Philips extreme for the dipped beam again then, and the Philips blue vision ultra for the side lights and the Philips Silver Vision indicator bulbs
