Decat and ECU query
« on: 04 October 2012, 23:11 »
Had a chat with a mate today n he seemed to think i need a remap due to my exhaust decat, he said the car will be overfuelling and a slight loss of power as the second lamba will be telling the ECU porkies

Any truth in this? Is a remap recomended after a decat?

best thing to do is space the lambda so it's not reading the wrong signals, i see where your mates coming from and it will over fuel slightly and will most likely put an early end to the lambda in the long term as it will get more sooted up, the car breaths easier with a cat as they are very restrictive so you will get improved performance for removing it, my mk2 VR used to pop from the oer fuelling due to the decat, it was awesome, but i also removed a fair few of the boxes elsewhere in the system too
