Ed30 Bluetooth, MFSW and media in ipod
« on: 04 October 2012, 13:14 »
Hi,

I'm new here and found you as I have just picked up a 2008 Ed 30, which I love. I had a 2005 Gti before and wasnt expecting to notice the extra power but most definelety do.

I'm missing the MFSW I had before and would like to add the media in (I currently have 6 cd changer) and would like the bluetooth phone adding.

I see Mortygttdi is the man to speak to in Yorkshire about installation and supplying the necessary kit. Can anyone tell me how to reach him or recommend anywhere in Leeds/Manchester that could do the install.

Many thanks

Same question from me. Weird

I have just bought a MY2008 Edition30 with RCD300. Basically want RNS510, bluetooth and MDI fitted.

Hertforshire area.

Came from a MK6Gti company car which I have for another few weeks. Taking the cash now.

Edition 30 has really surprised me. It handles better, feels more solid and the engine is much more muscular than Mk6. Only really noticeable on the motorway where the mid range acceleration is amazing.

Mk6 is definitely quieter and more refined though.
Mk6 GTi - returned to leasing company after 3 great years and replaced with :

Mk5 GTi - Edition 30 - Revo 1 and some tweaks - 310 bhp. Its a better car than the Mk6  - Now sold and replaced with :

Mk6 R - Rising Blue 5 Door. Won't be standard 270bhp for long

Family Car : Mercedes ML420 with 360 bhp
Looking at Porsche Macan as replacement

My ED30 has a Pioneer sat nav/dvd with Bluetooth built in. Just pair up the bluetooth on my phone & no need for extra cabel & cradel etc. Some of the aftermarket units work out cheaper & have more features, well worth a look.

Gene are you running a MFSW and if so have you changed the Canbus or direct ISO and sacked the volume control etc?  See my other post about the MFD function still working though.
