Have a cruise through these publicity shots of the new Beetle.  Can you spot anything that might not be VW's best work, from which maybe they're trying to distract your gaze?

Noo len, its that the roof doesn't fold flat/into anything. A mk1 cab looks to have a better fit

The old bug didn't either did it? Isn't it meant to be like the original beetle :)

It doesn't have a rear mounted air cooled engine either, they made the roof as well as they could at the time and they should do the same today but instead its just botched on

  • Looking for an "Icebreaker"
Traditionally, the hoods on German cars don't fold away into a hidden compartment, this look goes way back to the 1930s... Personally its a look that I like, but maybe as time has moved on, people are expecting more for their money... doing a stow away hood/roof like a 206cc etc would be almost impossible to do on a Beetle, and in the end, wouldn't be a Beetle anymore without the exposed Ragtop.
Some things should be left as they are!
