New mk3'er
« on: 02 October 2012, 20:17 »
Evening all!,

Right just a quick hello to say "hello"!

Recently got my first GTI in the middle of August, but not had a good drive of it yet due to clutch (and cable) needing doing. Tax, Insurance, Cambelt (130K) and imm anobiliser planned for the next few months. I might squeeze a stereo in there during that time.

So yeah, Mk3 in Mystic Blue (LC5L) - which I think is Purple in some lights, guess thats the Mystic part! All standard and plan to keep it that way, but loving the scene - (Red Nation issue of PVW going down a treat!).

Previous car history:-
Mini, Mini, Mini, erm Mini, Maestro (ask your Dad's!), Mini, Mini, KA, Mini, Y-Reg SEAT Ibiza 1.4 (VAG YEAH ), Pug 107 in Yellow, GTI

The Peugeot 107 is the ex-wife's and .... for sale! so gone from a car with a girl thingy to a car with a hairy chest and thingy!!!

Mancunian now living in Skipton, where I walk to work, so have my car as a plaything/daily runner.
Might be after ... Rallye Grille???? built in square spot lights.... If you see any let me know!

So yep - as you can see I am bit of a Mini man... I know not strictly VAG but if you have five minutes check out  www.minidivision.co.uk
Scalextric Mini and the Rally Mini have both made it to cover cars
or "Minidivision Rally Mini - Super Sleeper" on Youtube  http://youtu.be/GdE-qgfAAOU

Might get a yellow card for the above   but Mk3 pics coming soon!

Hi Murrayedition35,  I am gonna put the GT back in GTI and go on a GrandTour of Scotland with nothing more than a sleeping bag and money for fuel!

Lol, same here! Although i got off fairly lucky, most of the crust was surface rust , but they certainly rust well! Not much better than minis in that area ! Watch out for sill rot where the door seals join at the bottom, mine was quite bad there

Thanks Mr GTD

Strangely, the car has a sticker in the rear window  "Tyremist"

A quick search on google reveals.....

Tyremist is a member ... but not said much!
And I don't know how long ago those photos were took.

Looks like I need to keep be easy on the loud pedal!
