Summary :-

Five fuels tested on a Golf GTi ED 35 and BHP measured on a rolling road

Results :-

1. Shell V-Power  240.9 bhp
2. Esso Supreme  240.5 bhp
3. BP Ultimate      236.7 bhp
4. BP (95 RON)     236.1 bhp
5. Asda (95 RON)  235.8 bhp

VBH then drove on track with the best and worst fuels and commented that there "was a noticeable increase in grunt with the V-Power"

Conclusion was that the "Posh petrol " was not worth it based on cost though.

However they did'nt test the mpg ... so not a totally valid conclusion IMHO

The video will be on Youtube soon, no doubt

Typical Fifth Gear...if they're going to say it's not worth it for cost reasons, then they should have tested mpg also.

All they're interested in is power and speed. Not to be a bore but I don't think the program is funny or informative, so therefore a waste of time!

At least Top Gear's funny in between the odd serious part!

Top gear isn't funny any more, just three dickheads making the uk look stupid in other countries.

They didn't say it wasn't worth it, just that unless your going to try and feel every little thing your engine does you "probably" won't notice and for most people thats true although not everyone, so thats informative imo, plus at least 5th gear talk about cars people can actually afford between thrashing Lambo's and Ferrari's!
