Here's Bouncer's reply to the "how much Carnauba?" question.....
Hi Chris,
Ah the 'How much Carnauba in it' question.
You are correct there are a lot of ways of coming up with different figures - in fact to be honest carnauba by itself in todays technology is quite a poor brother. If you think that Carnauba wax was first formulated to be used on coachworks in the early part of last century, In addition to the different refinement grades of the organic product itself, i.e Grade(T) 1, Grade(T) 2, Grade(T)3 etc of which there is a lot of information on the net already. All of these can be used in waxes, all with different effects
Carnauba in a car wax formulation itself can only ever be around 30 - 35% of the overall mix, at 40% you are starting on the lines to making an Ice Hockey puck ( Did you see my 70% Carnauba wax at Waxstock ? )
Bouncer's current waxes are made with Grade 1 ( T1) Carnauba plus additional advanced technology in the form of other carriers. They all contain very much leading edge ingredients which is displayed by their sophisticated and epic performance.
so in a short answer, I could say 30% volume or 100% carnauba wax ( even if I used a single flake !!! ) - then I have wet and dry volume in terms of ml or grams, then I could divide the whole lot up by size of wax pot and give another figure.
Even Carol Voorderman could give you 6 answers. So basically you need to be wary of Carnauba % claims.
Certainly not the way Bouncer's will be marketed.
