Unfortunately, a bit like Dodo Juice Bouncer's do not quote % carnauba wax as it doesn't really tell you anything, but at the same time some read too much into it. If I had to guess it would be about 30% but that just seems the average across all waxes.

Here's Bouncer's reply to the "how much Carnauba?" question.....

Hi Chris,

Ah the 'How much Carnauba in it' question.

You are correct there are a lot of ways of coming up with different figures - in fact to be honest carnauba by itself in todays technology is quite a poor brother. If you think that Carnauba wax was first formulated to be used on coachworks in the early part of last century, In addition to the different refinement grades of the organic product itself, i.e Grade(T) 1, Grade(T) 2, Grade(T)3 etc of which there is a lot of information on the net already. All of these can be used in waxes, all with different effects

Carnauba in a car wax formulation itself can only ever be around 30 - 35% of the overall mix, at 40% you are starting on the lines to making an Ice Hockey puck ( Did you see my 70% Carnauba wax at Waxstock ? )

Bouncer's current waxes are made with Grade 1 ( T1) Carnauba plus additional advanced technology in the form of other carriers.  They all contain very much leading edge ingredients which is displayed by their sophisticated and epic performance.

so in a short answer, I could say 30% volume or 100% carnauba wax ( even if I used a single flake !!! ) - then I have wet and dry volume in terms of ml or grams, then I could divide the whole lot up by size of wax pot and give another figure.

Even Carol Voorderman could give you 6 answers. So basically you need to be wary of Carnauba % claims.
Certainly not the way Bouncer's will be marketed.

ok.. i hear what you're saying.. so what is with Swissvax (and other suppliers) quoting Carnauba % by vol when Bouncers say it is irrelevant?

eg. http://www.swissvax.co.uk/product_detail/wax_products/swissvax_best_of_show

eg. http://www.swissvax.co.uk/product_detail/wax_products/swissvax_best_of_show

But the question is....."51% of what volume?" Is it 51% of the volume of the total tub? is it 51% volume of the wax content?

This for example:

http://www.swissvax.co.uk/product_detail/wax_products/crystal_rock_state_of_the_art_car_wax_by_paul_dalton

is impossible, you physically cannot make a useable wax that is 76% carnauba wax. I'm not saying Swissvax are bad waxes, as I know they aren't, they are some of the best waxes available on the market, they are truly great waxes, but you just have to be careful how you read the description. The Paul Dalton wax, which just for example lets say it was a 100ml pot, then there is not 76ml of Carnauaba wax in it. There could be 30ml of wax, 76% of which will be Grade 1 Carnauaba. Does that explain what I mean?

Here's another example, have you used/heard of R222 100% carnauaba wax? This will mean that 100% of the wax content will be caranuaba wax.

Here is a 70% wax mixture:

http://www.waxamomo.co.uk/index.php?app=ecom&ns=prodshow&ref=DJFEP30

All it's good for is a paper weight

I personally find wax making very interesting indeed, i've spoken to both Dom @ Dodo and Jay @ Bouncer's at length, neither gave away their secrets unfortunately, but they have cleared a few myths in the industry
