The airbags used to pump open the door do not damage the door at all if used correctly. I worked for Green Flag and got into hundreds of cars in seconds with the kit. Some blokes pump the airbag too much which can result in the gap opening up but if you just pump enough to barely get the rod into the car then the door will return to its original position. Scrap yard... £10 for a a window. No brainer  and get yourself a CL pump whilst your at it

Cant smash a window because you have nice rims?

Really simple thing to do is cover the window in duct tape then smash it with hammer and nail. Nail will shatter the glass with little force and the tape will hold all the glass. No mess and your in.

Plenty of people breaking mk3's on here that will sell one cheap enough

exactly if the kit is used correctly it will cause no damage what so ever, i have used the kit hundreds of times and have never maid any damage what so ever, scrap yards might sell the windows cheap but after the hastle of breaking one and then replacing it the with the time spent its no diffrent than buying a kit anyway which makes the kit more logical because if it happens again you still have that kit to hand rather than going through the smash and fit a new window again

The inflateable bags are an idea but after a bit of searching i saw a couple of clips of them and the use of them is cringe worthy.

smashing a window does seem exteme but i would be the cheapest way. the cleaning... well I think I could manage that would leave the car cleaner than now as id take the seats out to get into all the nooks.
I wouldnt wanna smash the interior becase the full mj trim and carpets.

Thankfully the previos owner called me to let me know that they key is the correct one for the boot.
I didnt wanna force the key into the lock, so thought it was the wrong one 
I've freed the lock up abit with some oil but to be fair, WD would probably do abetter job so gonna get a can in the morning and have another go at getting the key into the lock and unlocking the car.

So theres hope of getting into the car without damage.

Abit of an update.

I've spent all morning in the rain trying to free up the boot lock but without success. I can get the key in 3/4 of the way but no further.

Think the air bag may be needed. As well as a lock set and new pump.

Another update,
I've still not brought myself to smash the glass, partly because the heavy rain.
I should hopefully be able to pick up a pump and a lock today, just Incase the pump breaks again in the future.
My plans are to call Rac, as I have home start cover I thought they are worth a try.

Would it be likely for them to use a tool to get down the side of the window rubber to pull the lock up, not too keen on the air bag wedge method.

Does it not have dead lock so even if they tried to pull the lock up it wouldn't work?

Im pretty sure it doesn't. Thank god.
I had issues with one of previous mk3's and a dead locking system.
