Get the magnet out and put the copper ones aside, as I reckon the copper pennies will be worth more in the future due to the way copper is going at the moment, you'll be quids in especially with China nearly using up all of its natural copper reserves.

I said the above to my dad and his actually taken it seriously and who knows...


Dont think there is much copper in them nowadays!

The older 1p/2p coins are high in copper content, but then the mint changed them to a different mix which is very low in copper and makes the penny magnetic.

I think you'll find it only adds up to a single lap lasting between eight and nine minutes.  :grin:
