Sigma Aspherical lense!

i seem to have made a woopsie! or im being really thick!

i thourght a aspherical lense was wide angle! having bourght it, and put it on the camra! i seem to see no differnce!?

have i just wasted my monies

Would be classed as wide angle but not ultra wide angle like a 10-20mm for example.

What camera are you using?

Aspherical reduces aberrations so it makes the lens sharper over a wider aperture range than a normal lens.

When you say wide angle - how wide do you want to go? If you want a fishbowl effect you are looking at 10 mm or so...

yeah I figured , bit annoyed! Oh well

Using a Nikon d3100 so it doesn't auto focus either, bit of a bummer!

Fish eye would be perfect, I duno really just for shotting landscape, and the mrs on  her horse in comps etc!

And I'm off to Prague next month so wanted something a bit better than my 18-55

i think ill wizz around to park camras round the corner and see how much they will offer me for it

Might get you £50 on a trade in.

The standard 18-55 Nikon lens is supposed to be excellent and probably not worth replacing for that focal range unless you want a wider aperture (like a constant F2..

Nikon do a 12-24 mm zoom but it won't be cheap.

thinking about it, i think id prefer a 18-200! but it must be AF on my d3100! which is where i think ill strugle! :\

yeah iv seen the 12-24! sooo expencive! 

£50 is still a loss, but better than being stuck with it!

Get the 18-105 which is the kit lens for the better nikons, they are pretty cheap and auto focus.
