keyfob renewal
« on: 20 September 2012, 21:46 »
hi guys

my keyfob stopped working a few months back and its been annoying me using the key to unlock the car etc so my question is ---- i have a spare keyfob from when i had my audi a8(98 model) the keyfob has a blank blade in it with HAA stamped on it

so could i use this fob if i got it cut and programmed??

thanks

Is it only the keyfob buttons that aren't working?

Would be easier to replace them with another circuit board and resync than the whole keyfob. Would need an unused transponder to program

yes just the buttons/fob has died(cant lock or unlock)

so getting a new circuit board would be easier? how do you re-sync?

where can i buy just the circuit board from? seen plenty of keyfobs but not just circuit boards?

thanks

if its the fob buttons going down n then not coming back up theyre an easy fix and also check the capsule in the flippy part as this will destroy the key of its cracked...trust me i know

no the buttons click fine just dosent do anything- was getting a bit tempermental and just got worse til it stopped all together

ive seen a few places say just buy the bottom half of the fob with circuit board in it and use the top half of mine with the transponder in it?
sound right?
