VW Jetta GX
Here's my mk2 Jetta, as it started life - 1.6GX
By the time I took it in part ex in January for my polo G40, it had already been subject to a VR6 conversion by Lukas at OCDD (Leeds). The plan wasn't to keep it as I was looking to have something different done (
http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=239841.0 ). But I really liked it as a daily, very practical (size wise - not so much on fuel!), standard to look at and the VR6 sound is very addictive, especially when it's 200bhp+ and it weighs approx. 1000kg (weighed at yard)...
It has a 2.9 VR6 OBD2 engine which has done 18,000 miles since the conversion when it was also rebuilt. It also has;
6 branch stainless steel manifold (heat wrapped)
Jetta 16v exhaust,
Chipped ECU
K+N 57i kit,
16v brakes,
AP coilovers,
Legal German plates
Since January I have had fitted (thanks to Brad & Ben), a VR5 FBK gearbox with 3.9 final drive (lower final ratio than VR6 box) which gives much better acceleration. While the engine was out I decided to give it a good clean up...
I have also fitted a mint 5-door mk2 golf ultraviolet interior which I think goes really well with the blue paint.
I'm not a big fan of BBS rx so I picked up some BBS RA's in excellent condition which I think look much better as dished.
To keep the tea leafs away I had a Clifford Concept 500 alarm fitted. I also have a v.good condition black carpet, spare Jetta front end, an Alpine Bluetooth stereo and infinity kappa speakers (still boxed) that I've just had delivered an about to fit...
