Wax Selection
« on: 14 September 2012, 20:58 »
I have 3 choices for a wax to use, AG HD, Raceglaze 55 or. Colli 915.

Never used Raceglaze but bought some this week, I have used the other 2 and really like the 915.

To avoid hours of work only to mess it up with an unfamiliar wax I am guessing I should stick with the 915?

Any thoughts or experience of the race glaze 55 vs Colli 915?

Finally, I still intend to use Reload with one of the above, if that affects the choice?

55 is a cracking wax which gives a stunning finish but i`ve found it doesn`t have a great durability.

915 is a fantastic winter wax as a couple of coats will give you well over 3 months protection and top class beading lol

I think I'm going to give the RG55 a blast, no point in buying it otherwise, I can always re-do it late October if I lose the durability.

I topped up the Colli last weekend on my JCW and agree the beading was still going after the last application in May!

For my GTI I really want to get the Carbon Grey to look super glossy, do you think I'll be ok to use the RG55 with Reload??  If so in what order?

Sorry to ask so many questions........... But I have joined DW today and I'm a little confused

55 first which i apply by bare hand as the heat off your body helps soften the wax and gives you a nice thin even coat, then top up when needed with the reload wich will also help with the wet look you are aiming for
