I think Chris was a bit different to the usual crowd and to be honest i'm not sure what to listen to now

Yes, he was a far larger c*nt than most DJs and loved the sound of his own voice far more than most.

Go Digital and listen to 6Music.  Much better.
I'd have to get a DAB tuner for my truck, but actually i hadn't thought of that.

6music is by far the best. Shaun Keaveny is funny. Fact.

I don't think a semi will give the same results

I give grimshaw six months, I just can't see his style working on a breakfast show. He's a hipster twit and I for one will be switching over until they see sense and replace him with Greg James

I would've thought Grimmies style is more suited to a late night painfully cool audience.

Which is where he derived from.

I concur, 6 music is the way forward.

I'll miss the show, it was nothing more than banter, but Chris knew how to really push the limits, without actually doing any harm.
I also think that the BBC is totally out of touch with its audience! people in their 40s and 50s are still listening to Radio1 on a regular basis... times have changed!

The point is that these are not the demographic Radio 1 is designed for.  If you're that age and still listening to R1 don't complain about anything about it, because your view is simply not valid for the purpose of the station.

And if you're listening to it and find it annoying, change over to something else!  I know I did a long time ago!
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.
