Got my wheel back this morning...

First things first WARNING!!!! by know means do you want to use Parcel Force to get your wheel there, it's not the hole of the Parcel Force service that is crap as I've used them in the past and they've been great...

I phone PF on Friday the 21st to arrange a collection on a 24hr Guaranteed so the wheel shud arrive at Lepsons on monday 24th(NO later) the Poole Depo collected it the same day at 4.15 with no problems, they then sent it up to there Medway Depo who then were suppose to delivery the alloy on the Monday...this is where my problems started, as said I put on a guaranteed 24hr so it wud be with the delivery company any longer than it has to be...well thro the day(Monday 24th) I was constantly checking my parcels where abouts and percificaly told PF Medway that the refurb company shuts at 5pm even tho I know the shut at 6pm...anyways my parcel didn't arrive on the monday for some unknown reason

I spoke to a manager that same evening to try and get a explanation to why they failed to delivery when promised...he apologised and said he personally guarantees it will be there on tuesday, I accepted his apology...

Now thro Tuesday I again was constantly phoning and tracking online the where abouts of the wheel, it finally arrived with Lepsons at 5.30pm and I'm convinced If I didn't keep badgering Medway the wudnt of delivered it again.
I have since made a claim for failed delivery(on there part) and have received a emailing confirming I will receive a refund in the next 10 working days thro the post...we shall see.

Anyway so Lepsons pretty much had the wheel from (wednesday 26th) onwards, they were a very pleasant company to deal with, they kept me constantly informed of the process of my alloy. I received a phone call from Lepsons Monday the 24th to say my alloys was ready for collection and that the price was £70+vat so £84 in total which I thort was very reasonable...

I then proceeded to arrange collection, I used PF again thinking that mistakes do happen and thort "Na it won't happen twice surely" how mistaken was I

I paid for guaranteed 24hr by noon this time as I knew the wheel wud be in a A1 condition and again didn't want it left with PF any longer than it had to be. PF Medway were due to pick it up that same Monday 24th so I wud have it by Tuesday 25th...now cus of previous experience with Medway I again was constantly on the phone and online tracking it and was assured that they will collect my parcel by 6pm....well guess what happened? They didn't...

I spoke to the same manager who again apologised and said he cud have a driver the in 15-20mins, I then said it to late the company shuts at 6pm so 6.15/6.20 is just not good enough...he then tried to make up an excuse to why the driver didn't collect, he said she(drive) was pregnant and that she started bleeding...I then replied to to say look I don't want to hear your excuses, to which he said the best I can do is upgrade your delivery to get to you by 9am Wednesday...of course I had to accept this

So on Tuesday I again was constantly phoning and online tracking to see if the parcel had been picked up...I was told at about 3pm that the collection wud happen between 4-5pm so come 5 I tracked it and they still hadn't collect it  it finally got collect at 5.50pm   10mins before they(Lepsons) shut...thankfully it got dispatched from there Medway Depo last night and I received it at 8am this morning

Long story short if your going to send a parcel up to Lepsons DON'T and I mean DON'T use PF...they Medway Depo is a absolute JOKE!

I don't have a problem with the hole of the PF service just literally there Medway Depo...

I have now put in another claim for delayed collection with a stinking letter attached!!

So the result of the refurb...

As you can see it looks good as new, if not better...well chuffed!
Lepsons had the wheel for 5days but are shut on Sundays so the turn around for me was 4days really

+1 for lepsons, I had a wheel reburbed by them a while ago top job.  Anyone in the sussex area can drop their wheels into wheelworks in crawley and they use lepsons to do their diamond cut alloys, they obviously add their ££ on top but it saves on the delivery and collection problems and in my case the petrol and traveling time to and from lepsons.

I think there's a place by Preston (just spotted via google) that does diamond cut wheels and I noticed has a pic of some referbed x2 Monza shaddows. Sadly I'm having to hunt myself as the surface of the x2 wheels on the near side of my car are badly scuffed from a nasty impact from some rocks being used as a curb.

local VW dealer quoted replacement wheels - supply only were £520 each (ouch!). Was thinking at buying a new set of x4 for summer, and use the current set for my winter tyres, not sure at that price lol

Probably better I carry this on in this thread :embarrassed:

So my wife has manage to kerb the n/s front alloy, not too bad as she scuffed it parking rather than clocked a kerb but a trip to the refurbishers is required.

I am going to use Pristine in Milton Keynes as they are local so I will do before and after pics, fingers crossed they do a good job :undecided:

Heard good things of them mate I'm sure there come back good as new...please cud you quote the price for the refurb, be good to see what price diff is between Lepsons & Pristine...

They have quoted me £84 which sounds very reasonable to me having described the wheel over he phone, expecting it to be more when I drop wheel off, we'll see and I will post up.

Irony of it was wife had gone to charity shop with some clothes, so trying to do something good has cost us the best part of £100

These things happen, if the £84 inc vat then that's the same as I got charged from Lepsons, worked out £70 + vat...
