Question about tuning the Gti 30 edition
« on: 12 September 2012, 18:20 »
I have an Seat Leon Cupra-08 (Yes guys I know i am in the wrong forum ). I have a stage 2 map from a Swedish tuner http://www.vtech.se/?car_seat_leon_20_tfsi_240_hp-1812a47cf7bc8f41f9e9c06e7096a2d3
The software is the only mod I´ve done to the car power wise. So my question to all you Gti 30 owners is if I wanna buy a complete exhaust system with a sport cat, do I need to remap the car? Is it the same if I update the fuel pump and intercooler?

Im dying for more power due to that I feel it is choking on higher rpm and speeds.

Please help a newbie out.

A custom map is always better as it allows you to realise the maximum potential from your other modifications.

Out of curiosity what does your Leon put out after just a map?

Welcome by the way.

You car is likely to throw a CEL which will need clearing for the exhaust modification + dont you want to know what your engines new output is?

The modifications to the exhaust dont so much add power, they release power (greater exhaust flow/less restrictions)

You sure you havent got the wrong address? http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/

Hi and thanx guys
Yes I know I´m wrong my home is E90post.
The firm that made the map says 322 hp and 480 nm but in not sure.
The thing is that I have owned several cars during that last 10 years and me and my frinds always measure the interval 100-200 km/h
My Bmw 335 Touring did 12 sec with a weight of 1890kg pretty ok time.
The Seat made 17 sek thats realy bad. I hade a Civic Type R with a K24 engine before the Seat and that made 13.4.
So I hope i have explained my disappointment with the Cupra.
The thing is that there are lots of fast Gti 30 editions here in Sweden as I think you all have seen.
Thats one more reason why I`m not satisfied with my car.
322hp in 1300 kg should be much faster.

those figures seem pretty high, especially if you're saying it's slower than the touring and type-r between 60-120mph?  :undecided:

I think you're probably the wrong side of 300bhp if I'm honest

Agreed, most safe remaps seem to yield around a 40 BHP gain and the K04 Turbo you have the gains are usually greater.

300 + BHP in a FWD car is going to need handling mods as well (If not already done) as you want to put as much power to the road as possible.

If your looking for some inspiration or ideas, have a look at this link at some Editon 30 builds:

Was your car tuned on a dyno or just reflashed?

Usually you get several generic states of tunes with the Ed 30.

Stage 1 - just a map or map and intake - 290 to 315bhp
Stage 2 - can have all the bolt-ons except the Uprated hpfp - 320-340bhp
Stage 2+ - can have as little as a full TBE, intake and Uprated hpfp, but realistically needs at least an S3 Intercooler too - 330-360+ bhp
Stage 3 - bolt ons and an Uprated turbo, but stock internals. Will have Uprated injectors too. 380-450+ bhp
Stage 4 - Uprated turbo, internals and full bolt ons. May also have an Uprated fuelling systems. 400+bhp upwards to beyond 600 bhp.

With just a map you categorically will not have 320 bhp unless the dyno is giving away lots of bhp!
